Matthew John Cammaroto of Dingmans Ferry PA, died suddenly on January 5th, 2025 at Bon Secours Hospital in Port Jervis NY.
Matthew's enduring legacy is that of a loving father and husband who ignited a passion for music and art in his children. His own creative pursuits, from playing guitar and saxophone to model railroading and comic book collecting, continue to inspire those who knew him. He will be remembered for his infectious enthusiasm for football, baseball, and Western movies, as well as his iconic sense of style and impressive facial hair. As we reflect on his life, we are reminded of the profound impact one person can have on those around them, and we are inspired to carry his memory forward in our own lives.
Matthew was born in Clifton NJ. The son of the late Antoinette DeFeo and Carmelo Cammaroto, he was born September 17, 1946 in Passaic City, NJ.
Matthew attended Clifton High school and graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University. Together with his wife Linda they moved to Andover Township where they lived for 40+ years. They recently moved to Dingmans Ferry PA for their retirement. They celebrated 50 years of marriage in 2023.
Matthew was a psychiatric social worker and worked for 10 years at Greystone Hospital. He later worked for the division of youth and family services. He then changed career paths and after graduating from CHUBB Institute he worked for 27 years as a Systems Analysist and Computer Programmer. After Matthew retired he did volunteer work at the Adult Day Care Center of Newton NJ.
For many years, Matthew was a parishioner at Saint Joseph's Catholic Church in Newton NJ. He was also a memeber of the Knights of Columbus.
Matthew was a loving father and husband who enjoyed playing his guitar, saxophone, was a model railroad enthusiast and comic book aficionado. His love of music inspired both his children to carry a strong appreciation and love for music and art through their lives.
He will always be remembered as the biggest football and baseball fan you could ever meet, for his many funny T-shirts, his love of Western movies and TV shows and for his fantastic facial hair throughout the years. Memories of him will always make us smile and he will live on in all those that knew him.

He is survived by his wife Linda, his daughter Jessica and her spouse Brittany Voss of Dingmans Ferry PA, and his son Russell and his spouse Nicole of Chester, NJ, his niece Linda Centanero and her spouse Sebastian and his nephew Charlie Cammaroto. He is pre-deceased by his brother Dominick Cammaroto.
A private cremation took place at MacLennan Hall Crematorium in Milford, PA.
