Michael C. Horkan — Owner & Licensed Funeral Director


Michael C. Horkan has dedicated his life to serving families during their most difficult moments with professionalism, compassion, and unwavering dignity.


A lifelong Hudson Valley native, Michael grew up in Salisbury Mills, NY, attended St. Thomas of Canterbury RC School in Cornwall-on-Hudson and John S. Burke Catholic High School in Goshen. He went on to train at the American Academy McAllister Institute of Funeral Service in New York City, earning his license as a Funeral Director in 2001.


Michael built his career at some of New York City’s most distinguished and demanding funeral homes — including the renowned Riverside Memorial Chapel and the legendary Frank E. Campbell, whose client families have included some of the most prominent figures in American public life. He later managed Marine Park Funeral Home, where he served politicians, clergy, and public figures with the same personal care he extends to every family regardless of circumstance.


In 2022, Michael acquired Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, bringing that wealth of experience home to the Tri-State community. His commitment is simple: every family deserves the highest standard of care at the most important time of their lives.


Michael is a proud member of the New York State Funeral Directors Association (NYSFDA), the National Funeral Directors Association (NFDA), and the Orange, Rockland & Sullivan County Funeral Directors Association.
