It hurt my heart to hear that Karen passed away, but in my mind, I’m picturing her back in the arms of her sweet Mom, the gracious, loving, affectionate lady I knew as Aunt Theresa when I was a child. Though miles and years have separated us in adulthood, I have thought of Karen often, always very fondly, and cherished the occasions when we saw each other.
One of those occasions was a visit Karen made to my Mom shortly before I lost her, also at 69 — too young. Karen had left roses at the grave of Aunt Theresa and brought one for my Mom. Theresa had been such an invaluable friend to my mother — kind, compassionate, generous. And that was Karen, too, of course.
I saw Karen again at Len & Jo’s Pizzeria, where we celebrated my sister Marie’s 75th birthday. She made us feel right at home and the pizza was perfect, as always. Karen’s life journey was the very definition of that elusive American Dream realized — hard-won and so well deserved.
To her devoted family (dear Millie among them), my deepest condolences. I hope you find comfort in your memories, and inspiration in the exceptional human being that Karen was.

Karen will be missed by many. I loved her for the constant love she gave to my daughter, Stephanie, along with her husband, Danny, as she entered the work force and became a loving part of their team at Len and Jo's. Their kindness and patience will forever be remembered!! I am so sorry to her family for the immense loss. I understand how painful it is to lose her!! Thinking of you all and sending Danny Markle all our deepest sympathies. Certainly have needed those napkins lately, Danny,

My sincere condolences to Karen’s family on her passing. She was a classmate of mine at PJHS and I always remember her being very sweet. If she happened to see me at Len & Jo’s, she would always stop to talk. Prayers for her loved ones.

Danny and Family -
Karen was always very sweet to my brothers, (Arthur and Ken), and me for as long as I can remember. Her mother Theresa used to babysit us as we lived directly across the street from them on North Maple Avenue.
Every time we were in Port, a stop at Len and Jo’s was a must. It was our dad’s (Artie’s) favorite place to go too. All cherished memories now and forever.
I’m so very sorry for the loss of your wife of so many loving years.
Deepest sympathies
