Barbara and I had so much fun in college together. We attended the same classes and shared our education preparing to be Home Economics teachers at Hunter Colloege in the Bronx. We were friends who spent many happy days together over the years with our spouses and other family members. We went through ups and downs along the way, but nothing ever changed our fondness and high regard for each other. Our families were often together on holidays and vacations. No matter how far apart we ended up living, we always stayed in touch. Friendship like that is a rare and wonderful memory.

How can I tell you all the great moments I shared with Barbara? We were friends from the time we met at Hunter College. We shared every wonderful event in both our lives and even living far away from each other made no difference. We were always in touch by phone and letters. My children also called her "aunt Barbara". I was a bridesmaid at her first wedding and an "aunt" to her dear son Robert. Distance never kept us from visiting each other and calling and writing. A true friend is a friend for life and I will always cherish the times we enjoyed each other's company. Geri Ossana
