Ellen Marie Waugh of Port Jervis, died peacefully on April 20, 2024 at home, surrounded by her family.  She was 68.

The daughter of the late William Waugh and Ann Marie Catalano, she was born on August 2, 1955 in Brooklyn, NY. 

In addition to her parents Ellen was predeceased in life by her stepfather Blaze “Bud” Catalano and brother in law Irvin DeStefano.

Ellen was a dedicated employee of the Port Jervis Police Department, retiring as Administrative Assistant to the Police Chief.  She enjoyed and was proud of her position at the Police Department, and always held a special place in her heart for her "Blue Family".  Although anyone who knew Ellen could tell you that what she cherished most in life were her children and grandchildren.  Family was everything to her, from not missing a sporting event for her grandchildren to spending time with her sisters. That is where she radiated most and enjoyed being.

Ellen was the beloved mother of Michael Gillespie with his wife Kristina of Westtown, NY and Shannon Churchill with her husband Christopher of Knightdale, NC.  Cherished grandmother of Keegan, Gavin, Madeline, Colin, Mia and Molly.  Dear sister of Patricia Rainaldi her husband Steve, Maureen DeStefano and Kathleen Waugh.  She was an adored  aunt to many nieces and nephews.  Ellen loved hard and touched everyone she came in contact with.  She will be sadly missed by so many.  

Reposing Tuesday 4/23 from 3 to 7:00PM at the KNIGHT-AUCHMOODY Funeral Home 154 East Main Street, Port Jervis.  Funeral Wednesday 8:30AM from the funeral home.  Funeral Mass 10:00AM St. Columba RC Church, 27 High St, Chester, NY 10918.  Following the Funeral Mass a private cremation will take place.
