Dear Mom,
I'm not sure I can convey in words just how much of a beacon you were in this world, and the impact you've made on those who knew and loved you, but I will try.
You were the most loving mom to have ever graced the Earth. You made me believe in myself when I thought no one else ever would. You always made me feel better when life threw its trials and tribulations my way, and that I could succeed at whatever I set my mind to. You cared about everything I had to share, no matter how seemingly insignificant, that perhaps no one else would care about but me. That unconditional love formed the foundation of my life and made me into who I am today. You were always generous and compassionate, helping to spoil me every Christmas and birthday. You drove me to school every day of my life until my second week of college while rocking out to AC-DC, Van Halen, and Nickelback. There's so much more I could mention, that it could fill a novel, and perhaps someday I'll write a novel or a poem dedicated to you.
You were also a kind-hearted person, extremely funny, brilliant, and lit up any room you were in. The world is noticeably dimmer now, and there's a hole in my heart. I will miss you every day of my life, and I will ensure for the rest of my days that I preserve your memory, make sure people know that I had the best mom who ever lived, and I hope to make you proud in heaven.
I'll also miss the little things, like sharing whether we got the Final "Jeopardy!" and Wheel of Fortune Bonus Puzzle over texting, playing board games together and having an uproarious time, or even just going out to eat and having a nice dinner. I'm forever grateful for the time we did get to spend in each others' lives.
The hardest thing I've ever had to do in my life is to say goodbye to you, but I know you'll always be with me. It is the honor of my life to have been your son. Thank you for everything; I will always appreciate you. I love you with all my heart.
