Obituary of Thomas John Cavanaugh Sr.

Thomas John Cavanaugh, Sr. of Matamoras, PA died February 25, 2023 at Garnett Health Medical Center. He was 94.

The son of the late Thomas F. and the late Marion Ward Cavanaugh , he was born October 2, 1928 in Brooklyn, NY. 

He served in the U.S. Army, and was employed as an Iron Worker with Local 40, past member of AOH District Middletown. 

Beloved husband of Eileen Cavanaugh at home.  Father to Dennis Cavanaugh (Linda), Kevin Cavanaugh (Amelia), Cindy Cavanaugh, Robert MacDonald (Jodi), Daniel McDonald (Amy), Thomas Cavanaugh (Teresa), Chris Cavanaugh (Eily), and the late Edward Cavanaugh. Cherished Grandfather of 12 grandchildren and Great Grandfather of 7.

Visitation on Thursday 3/2/2023 from 1:00 to 3:00pm and 5:00 to 7:00pm at KNIGHT-AUCHMOODY Funeral Home 154 East Main Street Port Jervis NY 12771.  Funeral Friday  10:30am from the Funeral Home, last leave 11:00AM.  Burial  to follow, Millrift Cemetery, Doug Miller Road, Millrift, PA

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
