Obituary of Rita E. Morgan

Rita E. Morgan age 69 of Rhinebeck, NY and formerly of Port Jervis, NY passed away on Sunday, January 23, 2022 at Northern Dutchess Hospital in Rhinebeck, NY. Rita was born on January 15, 1953 in Cherry Hill, VA, the daughter of the late John and Elizabeth Sarbu Groschwitz. She worked in retail at JC Penny in Middletown, NY. Rita is survived by her two daughters: Jessica Williams and husband Mark of Port Jervis, Michelle Angevine of Milford, PA, her son Gary Morgan, Jr. of Middletown, NY, two sisters; Helen Johnson and husband Warren (Sam) of Kerhonkson, NY and Edith Glenn of Port Ewen, NY, her brother, George Wendelmuth and wife Addie of Walden, NY, five grandchildren; Quinn Strang, Meghan Williams, Zachary Morgan, Joshua Angevine, and Lydia Marrero, several nieces and nephews. She was preceded by her sister Mary Sarbu, her brother Dieter Sarbu and her nephew Richard “Ricky” Johnson. Visitation will be held on Thursday January 27, 2022 from 4-6 PM at the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, 154 E. Main St. Port Jervis, NY 12771. Funeral services will follow at 5:45 PM at the funeral home. Rev. Amy Garrett will officiate. Interment will take place in the spring at Pine Hill Cemetery in Sparrowbush, NY.
