Donna Marie Crawford (nee Keane), our beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend passed on from this world on January 17, 2022. Donna fought a tough battle with dementia over the last 6 years, and ultimately COVID-19 relieved her from that ordeal. Her family is comforted that her fight has come to an end but will miss her dearly.
Donna Marie Keane was born to William F. Keane and Phyllis Keane (nee Piatt) in Port Jervis, NY on May 16th, 1949. The oldest child of four and only daughter. Donna and Dave had 3 children and were married until 1996. Donna was a 30-year employee of Delaware Valley School District and retired in 2010.
Donna was preceded in death by her mother and father, as well as her dear in-laws, James and Arlene Crawford, and ex-husband James David Crawford, brother-in-law Jeff Crawford, and most recently, her cherished sister-in-law Christine Crawford. The family extends their most sincere appreciation to Paul Nyamai and Mercy Ndambuki as well as the rest of the family and staff at Considerate Care in Pullman, Washington. They provided necessary care to Donna throughout her battle that her family was not equipped to provide. We take solace knowing that she was well cared for and loved by her caregivers.
Donna cared and loved deeply all she knew, and could always be counted on to provide grace and compassion. In fact, Donna was such a caring and a vigilant mother that her children and some friends lovingly referred to her as ‘Hawk’ or ‘The Hawk’ because of her always watchful eye and protective ways. Heaven knows she is up there with a clear mind watching over us all now. Donna’s family will receive friends 12:30 PM-1:30 PM, Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at St. Joseph’s R.C. Church, Matamoras, PA.
