Rafael A. Gonzalez, age 79 of Port Jervis, NY passed away Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at Bon Secours Community Hospital, Port Jervis, NY. He was born on June 22, 1942 in Fajardo, Puerto Rico, the son Bernardo and Victoria Benitez Gonzalez. Rafael retired as an engineer for the Dept. of Defense at Stewart National Guard Base, Newburgh, NY. He married Frances Martinez Gonzalez, who pre-deceased him. Rafael is survived by his son, Rafael Gonzalez and his wife Brenda of Port Jervis, NY, his daughter Lillian Carter of Virginia, his brother, Victor Gonzalez of Puerto Rico, his sister Luz Esther Gonzalez of Puerto Rico, his beloved grandchildren; Tito Agosto, James, Jermain,Terrance Wilson and Chad Carter. Services will be private. Arrangements are by the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, 154 E. Main St., Port Jervis, NY.
