One of my first jobs was at the Flo-Jean where I got to know "DayDay". She was a real pro throughout her career. I can still see Big Joe walking up Ball Street. Love to Rybak family.

Dear Carolyn, Joe and families Maybe a few times in a life time one crosses paths with an exceptional person. Dayday was surely such a person. My recollections always center around her unmatchable ability to orchestrate things with the epitome of professional skill at the Flo-Jean and everywhere else. I often thought its too bad one of the top restaurants or venues in the city did not have the luck to have her running their operation. Class and perfection always. A few times she gently gave me advice or suggestions and one always listened with respect. Most quiet, yet I think a velvet glove lined with steel. Blessed to have a hundred years. Our condolences. I bet the good Lord's reception hall just improved greatly.

Aunt DayDay is now in eternal rest. I have wonderful and memorable memories of Aunt DayDay. During the 12 years that I was a member of that family, Aunt DayDay always treated me with love, warmth, gentleness and kindness. She treated me as a very special person to the point where I once told her she was my favorite aunt and to which her sisters teased me in a fun way to no end. I loved Aunt DayDay. God bless her soul.

I can't imagine the world without Day Day in it. She was much of part of my life growing up whether with Junior Catholic Daughters, at the Flo-Jean, at Hunt's Landing. When my Dad's side, the Norrell's had our family reunions in the summer, Day Day would come with her amazing eggplant parm. She truly was a treasure and the kindest lady you could meet. She will be remembered with a smile on my face......Sue (O'Leary) Sherburne
