Donald C. Ort, age 85, of Port Jervis, NY passed away peacefully, Monday, January 10, 2022 in Port Jervis, NY. He was born on June 15, 1936 in Westwood, New Jersey, the son of John R. and Lillian Maier Ort. Donald proudly served our country from1954-1957 with the US Navy, during the Korean War. He retired from Avalon Textiles in Halden, New Jersey. Donald is survived by his cousin, Ann Williamson of Port Jervis and numerous nieces and nephews. Donald was pre-deceased by his sisters Betty M. Ort and Janet (Ort) Kooistra, his brother John (Sonny) Ort, and his uncle Raymond Maier. Donald was a member of the American Legion Post #240 in Prospect Park, New Jersey. Services will be private. Interment will take place in the spring at Laurel Grove Cemetery, Port Jervis, NY. Arrangements are by the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, 154 E. Main St., Port Jervis, NY.
