First off my heart goes out to Joseph, Jerry, John, and Katy. Dan and Theresa were the most generous persons I have known. I was practically homeless with a small severely autistic son, and Dan and Theresa took us into their home and treated us like family. This was the beginning of a long friendship. Dan and Theresa belonged to the NJ Dahlia Society, this began my love of dahlias. We went to many Dahlia flower shows together. Dan and Theresa also enjoyed belonging to the Grange, they In vited me to become a member, have been a member since. In 2014 I was displaced from my home again, and Dan and Theresa took me in again. This is my list of Dan's loves/favorite things to do: His first and forever love is God The second was his beloved spouse Theresa, Third is his only child John and family Fourth his love for photography Fifth is his love of Dahlias flowers. The deaths of Dan and Theresa is one of my biggest loses in life. This is not "goodbye", it is "till we meet again". Thank you for everything.

Dan served as an active member of MARCH (Montague Association in Restoration of Community History) for over 20 years. He also served as a member of MARCH's Board of Trustees for 10 years. Dan was the baker in the family and he and Theresa never came to a meeting without a freshly baked cake in hand. Dan and his good friend and cohort, Paul Jackson, were avid dahlia growers for many years, and received several awards in recognition of their dahlia growing accomplishments. Dan was also known for his photographic skills in documenting so many events. We will miss Dan, and we send our most sincere condolences to his son and family, of whom Dan and Theresa could not have been more proud. Gene Crawford
