Obituary of Vincent E. Livingston

Vincent E. Livingston passed away peacefully on November 25, 2024 in Middletown, NY.  He was 98 years old.  

 

The son of the late Anna and William H. Livingstone, he was born on September 16, 1926 in Port Jervis, NY.

 

Vincent was extremely proud of his service in the United States Navy during World War II, where he served on board the USS Nassau CVE-16. He was a charter member, past Captain and Chaplain of the Tri-State Naval Ship  #7241. Vincent was past Commander of the Orange County Council of VFW, past Camp D'Aide of the National Commandry VFW and served on the Legislative Committee   for Veterans of Orange County. He was also a member of the Advisory Committee to former Congressman Ben Gilman. 

 

Vincent spent a total of 77 years in Scouting with the Boy Scouts of America, serving as a Scoutmaster, Cubmaster and member of the Executive Board. He was awarded the Silver Beaver and Saint George s Award. 

 

Vincent was a member and Eucharistic minister for St. Mary’s R.C. Church. He was a 3rd degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council #471 and a member of CYO and on the Committee on Catholic Scouting with the Archdiocese of New York.

 

He received the John L. Mackechnie award from the Port Jervis PBA recognizing him for his service and commitment to our nation, state and community. 

 

In addition to his parents Vincent was predeceased in life by his wife June Livingston, his sister Anna Lemke and sister Catherine Simons of Port Jervis, NY, and one brother Joseph B. Livingston of Eldred, NY.

 

Vincent is survived by his three sons, Vincent with wife Roseanne of Easton, Pa. David of Port Jervis, NY,  and Denis and wife Patricia of Port Jervis, NY. He is further survived by his grandchildren Jeremy, Joshua, Joseph, Rachel, Michelle, David, and Ryan.  Great grandchildren Ashleigh, Ian, Demetrius, Steven, Norah, Annaliese, Madeline, Rory, Josalyne, Layla, and Chloe. Great great grandchildren Aubree and Michael. He is also survived by 1 sister Mary Boyd of Fairport Harbor, Ohio, and several nieces and nephews.

 

Visitation will be Sunday, Dec 1, 2024, from 1-4pm at Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be held on Dec. 2, 2024 at 10:00am at St. Mary’s R.C. Church, 50 Ball Street, Port Jervis, NY, with Burial to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
