It took me 29 years to get to meet, know, and easily love you. I longed to know you my whole life and know where I come from so I was able to understand myself more. I am beyond grateful for the 11 years I got to know my father. I was able to learn about me in a much deeper capacity thanks to Eric. I miss how much he pushed me because he knew I could do more. He knew I could get through anything no matter the challenge. He had a funny way of doing that lol but it was the purest of love because he always saw my potential. He was an amazing grandfather to my kids. They was he understood them and connected to them was mind blowingly amazing. They miss their grandfather immensely. Eric, these last 5 months have been the hardest I’ve ever gone through but I have felt you next to me, pushing me through, keeping me strong, and always keeping the fight in me. I know you’ve been guiding us and protecting us the whole time. My son misses the spicy food challenges with you, my daughter misses you both busting each others chops and I miss listening to you sing to your country music, dancing along to it and cooking amazing food. I will carry you close to my heart everyday till we meet again. I love you so very much and miss you every moment of every day. Keep us strong as we continue our fight for justice in your name. We love you Eric. Thank you for always keeping us safe and for always believing in us.

It's been 5 months almost since the passing of Eric & it still feels like last night. Our family has so many good memories with Eric, from him running around chasing after monkey man (Colton) to cake fights in my living room with the girls. Eric taught my kids so much about nature & construction. There isn't a day that goes back that Colton is building something like "ampa" showed him, or Ayla shooting her bow like her father & Eric showed her. Amarahs constantly talking about horses & how to groom them like Eric told her when she had lessons. He were the best grandfather to my babies, & for that i am forever grateful. Knowing Eric for 14 years ive seen the good, the bad, the ugly, but I can say without a doubt he loved his kids & grandchildren so much, they were without a doubt his world. We love you Eric, we miss you everyday. Continue to guide us, protect us & bless us from above. We are gonna make you proud old man<3 - your daughter in-law, Aleshia.
