Obituary of Gerard T. Nallon

Please share a memory of Gerard to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Gerard T. Nallon of Port Jervis passed away on October 23, 2024 at Newton Medical Center.  He was 67.

The son of the late Oliver and Joan Nallon, he was born on March 26, 1957 in Wilkes-Barre PA.

Gerard proudly served with the US Army serving with the PFC Third Brigrade 82nd Airbourne Division.  He mainly served as an ammunition bearer for the 508th Infantry.

Gerard was a doer. Perpetually active and boundlessly generous, Gerard was always there to help...everyone. To know him was to witness energy in motion, a tireless force making things, doing things, fixing things, most of the time for others.

Gerard’s innate curiosity and intuitive understanding of how things function combined with years of hard work made him the go-to person for any job. He could fix anything. However, his talents were not limited to things mechanical. He cooked a mean meatloaf, had a story for any occasion and often left you bent over in laughter with his unique sense of humor.

Gerard was a profoundly loving person who made you feel accepted no matter what your differences. He was a devoted partner, father, grandfather, son, brother and friend. Gerard’s love was most obvious in the way he showed up, always ready to roll up his sleeves and get dirty whether tackling a job or creating a magical world of play for his children and grandchildren. He invariably rose above his own pain and suffering to be there for others.

Gerard was loved and will be dearly missed.

In addition to his parents Gerard was predeceased in life by his brothers Michael, Christopher "Timmy" and David Nallon.

He leaves behind his longtime life partner Jeanette Gottlieb.  Beloved father of Maria Malecki (Joseph), Erica Nallon and Stephanie Siegel (Jesse).  Dear brother of Patrick Nallon (Lois), Brian Nallon (Rose Ann), Mary Catherine Check, Maureen Querci and Mark Nallon (Joyce).  Grandfather of Olivia, Ella and Wesley.  Brother in law of Charlie & John Heussy.  He was an uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Services are private at this time.  Cremation took place at MacLennan Hall Crematorium, Milford.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Gerard's memory to the PORT JERVIS VOLUNTEER AMBULANCE CORPS INC. 29 Church Street Port Jervis NY 12771.
