Obituary of Joyce M. Kuen

Joyce M. Kuen, a lifetime resident of Port Jervis, died peacefully on May 16. 2024.  She was 89.

The daughter of the late Edwin P. and Jessie Cherry, she was born on January 3, 1935 in Port Jervis, NY.

Joyce started working for the Port Jervis Telephone Company where she met her future husband Leo at a Christmas party. She then worked for Kolmar Labs for many years and after retirement, worked for the Port Jervis Chamber of Commerce.  Former longtime member of Drew United Methodist Church.  Joyce was an avid bowler, she was a past member of the Ladies Bowling League at Minisink Lanes.

In addition to her parents, Joyce was predeceased in life by her husband, Leo V. Kuen, Jr., her son, Stephen Kuen, and several of her brothers and sisters.

Beloved Mother of Thomas Kuen, Brian Kuen (Halyna Manfredo), and Michael Kuen (Diane). Grandmother of Joshua, Leah, Chelsea, Stephanie, Seth, Kevin, Rachel, and Casey. Great-grandmother of 14. Dear sister of Margaret “Eadie” Startup, Phyllis Spiegel, Elaine Murphy, and Alan Cherry.  

Visitation Wednesday 5/22 at KNIGHT-AUCHMOODY FUNERAL HOME, 154 East Main Street, Port Jervis, NY from 10AM-12PM.  A funeral service will take place 12 Noon at the Funeral Home.  Final committal to follow at Pine Hill Cemetery, Sparrowbush, NY.
