Obituary of Garrey Kanitz

Garrey Kanitz of Sparrowbush, NY, died peacefully surrounded by his family at home on April 14, 2024.  He was 74.

The son of the late Curtis and Olive Kanitz, he was born on May 30, 1949 in Port Jervis, NY.

Garrey was the longtime owner of Curt’s Sporting Goods in Sparrowbush, NY.

He is survived by his wife Joelyn at home. Beloved father of Brooke McGrath (Sean) of Poughkeepsie, NY, Tracey Federico (Jason) of Cuddebackville, NY, and Curt Kanitz (Katie) of Williamsport, PA. Grandfather of Damien, Aiden, Peter, Cace, and Elise. Dear Brother of Debra Biccum of Glen Spey. Uncle of Mandy Scully and Greg Biccum.

A Memorial Service will take place in the near future. Cremation took place at MacLennan Hall Crematorium, Milford, PA.
