Good afternoon,
My name is Jeffrey Lombardi. I first met John in the early 1970’s. I was living in Brooklyn and my parents enrolled me and my brothers and sisters into the Fresh Air Fund, which was a New York City program.
The goal of the Fresh Air Find was to get children such as I out of the City during the summer, pairing us with families outside of NYC such as the Miller’s. Bill, Violet, Sharon, Bonnie, and John. I consider John as a brother, because we spent a great deal of time together. Five (5)+ summers when we were young and full of adventure, not unlike Huckleberry and Tom Sawyer.
We went camping, fishing, swimming, riding (each summer I visited the Miller’s John’s motorcycle was bigger and badder. He staarted with a Honda 50 and then a 125, 250 etc., John and I lost touch for many years but we reconnected a few years ago and I feel blessed by that. We chatted quite a bit as we tried to catch up after so many years. I’ll never forget you brother. So many fond memories to look back on now. May God Bless you and keep you safe. I look forward to seeing you in the afterlife.
Love you always, my brother.
