Thom Howard McKeeby age 83, of Port Jervis passed away Tuesday, July 27 in Westfall Township, PA. He was born to Glenn and Jessie Wilson Mortimer Mckeeby on April 19,1938 in Port Jervis, New York. Thom was introduced to his future in-laws Walter and Florence Engelhart the first week of his life. Thom McKeeby is survived by his wife and high school sweetheart Barbara Engelhart of 63 years, son Wayne and wife Darlene, their sons Jason and Brian; son Dr. Jeffrey McKeeby and wife Dr. Wendy Lee McKeeby, their sons Joshua, Ryan and Jacob; son Dr. Jon McKeeby and wife Susan, son Paul and wife Ashley and children Madeline and Jensen; son Timothy and wife Katie; and daughter Jennifer; sisters Glenda Bohan and Mary Jane Gardner; brother-in-law Ken Engelhart and wife Pat; sister-in-law Phyllis Engelhart; many nieces, nephews, cousins; as well as many friends. Thom proudly served our country at the age of 17 with the U.S. Marine Corp., from 1955-1959. He retired as an engineer for the Erie-Lackawanna after 35+ years of dedicated service. Thom and Barbara loved to dance, travel and go to country western concerts. Every day had to start and end with a kiss. Thom loved his garden of flowers and vegetables. Thom was a trapper, hunter and fisherman from an early age and taught his sons these skills. Wayne was more accomplished at these skills than Jeff and Jon. All three children and grandchildren learned their love for family, love for outdoors and the importance of a good work ethic from Thom. Thom was a very sweet, loving soul and a spiritual man. He loved to meet people and would talk to everyone. Thom was a proud member of the Masons PJ Lodge #328,F& AM Tri-State Naval Ship #7241-PJ, the Hawk’s Nest Hunting Camp. Thom attended the Sparrowbush Methodist Church. We have had many angels helping us care for Thom over the past three years. The family would like to thank Glenda Bohan for years of love and support; Chris, their medical care driver; Nurse Betty at the Dialysis Center; Joanne Dew for much care, love and support; and Pastor Amy and the Sparrow Bush United Methodist Church for many prayers. Memorial services will be held 11 AM, Saturday, August 7, 2021 at the Sparrowbush United Methodist Church. Rev. Amy Garrett will officiate. In lieu of flowers please provide donations to the Sparrowbush United Methodist Church, Sparrowbush, NY 12780 Arrangements are by the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, 154 E. Main St., Port Jervis, NY.
