Rocco “Butch” Petito a lifelong resident of Port Jervis, died suddenly on November 24, 2023 at Bon Secours Community Hospital.  He was 76.

The son of the late Rocco and Sadie Petito, he was born on February 6, 1947 in Port Jervis. 

Butch worked in Communications for NJ Transit, retiring after many dedicated years.  He would go on to work for Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, where he always cherished the time he spent with the Auchmoody Family.  He was an avid fisherman.  Butch’s  family will always remember him as a loving husband, father and grandfather. 

In addition to his parents Butch was predeceased in life by his first wife Patricia Petito, brother in law Joseph LaBlanc and his dear friend and cousin William Hubbard.

Beloved husband of Karen Petito at home.  Devoted father of Dana Petito of Port Jervis.  Cherished grandfather of Richard O’Lena and Ava Hutchinson.  Dear brother of Maryann LaBlanc of Milford.  Stepfather of Tonya & Randy Richards with their son Brock.  Cousin of Roseann Hubbard with her son Patrick and his companion Tom.  Butch leaves behind numerous friends and acquaintances to numerous to mention. 

Arrangements are private and at the convenience of the family.  Cremation will take place at MacLennan Hall Crematorium.
