Obituary of Richard A. Porteous

Richard A. Porteous of Milford died peacefully at home on November 6, 2023 with his devoted wife Eleonore at his side.  He was 83.

The son of the late Richard and Ivy Porteous, he was born on September 3, 1940 in Ilford, England.

Richard worked and retired as a Credit Manager with several companies over his career.  He loved soccer and was a devoted fan of West Ham United Soccer Team.  Richard became a US Citizen and loved this Country but his heart always remained home in England.  Be it soccer or his homeland, his one true love was his family and they will miss him dearly. 

Beloved husband of Eleonore Porteous at home.  Devoted father of Natasha Tomlins with her husband Warren of New Hampton, NY and Tanya Johanson of Greenwood, ME.  Dear brother of Jean James of Cambridge, England and Neil Porteous of Birmingham, England.  Cherished grandfather of Mackenzie Tomlins, Nicholas Tomlins, Brianna Burrow, Lilyana Johanson and Amelia Johanson.  Great grandfather of Vincent Burrow and Alexander Burrow.  He was an uncle to many nieces and nephews. 

Visitation Wednesday 11/8/23 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM  at the KNIGHT-AUCHMOODY Funeral Home 154 East Main Street Port Jervis NY 12771.  Funeral Service 4:00PM at the Funeral Home,  Fr. William McGinty officiating.  A private committal will take place at MacLennan Hall Crematorium.
