To The Lugo Family and chosen friends: I did not know Maira personally, but knew of her through her sister, Kathryn. She and Kathryn shared the same blood, so I know that Maira was a kind and loving person, whom I regret not meeting. May you all keep Maira's memory alive through actively representing her through kindness and love. May God comfort each of you in your grief, knowing that Maira is resting in His arms. Maira has been very special to me. I met her back in 1992 through her cousin who is also my husband. She always made me feel loved and welcomed to the family. We lived a few doors away for a while and became good friends. I will always cherish the moments I spent with her, her way to make me laugh, her honest self when she needed to express herself and her lovely personality. When I came home from doing a decade in prison, I was lost. When people turned their back on me, she was there for me. Those where super dark times and I didnt want to be a part of this world anymore. Her love and compassion helped me overcome that part of my life. She was ALWAYS there for me when I was going through something. A beautiful soul that can never be replaced. I love you sweet angel, sleep peacefully.
