Obituary of Steven J. Gaesser

Steven J. Gaesser of Vernon, NJ died on August 17, 2023 at Newton Medical Center.  He was 82.

The son of the late Walter and Mildred (nee Ernst) Gaesser, he was born March 19, 1941 in Rochester, NY. 

Steven served with the US Army in the Vietnam War.  Upon returning home he would become a teacher.  Steven's passion was teaching languages and he  taught several languages at the Ramapo High School, in Franklin Lakes, NJ, where he would retire from.  

In addition to his parents, Steven was predeceased in life by his brothers Walter and Allan Gaesser. 

Devoted father of Liesl, Kristen, Lynn, and Gregory.  Dear brother of Fr. Ronald Gaesser and David Gaesser.  Grandfather of Armand.  He was a cherished uncle and cousin to many. 

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:30AM at St. Louis RC Church, Pittsford, NY.  Interment to immediately follow in the family plot at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Rochester, NY.  

A Memorial Mass is planned in the near future at St. Mary's RC Church, Port Jervis.  Please look for the update.  

Local arrangements entrusted to Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home.  Cremation took place at MacLennan Hall Crematorium.
