Obituary of Kathryn Taylor
Kathryn S. Taylor, “Sally” of Matamoras, PA died Wednesday, August 9, 2023 at Garnett Health Medical Center of Middletown, NY. She was 86.
The daughter of the late Kenneth and the late Mary Esther (Dunn) Ross, she was born July 24, 1937 in Port Jervis, NY.
Our mom was a veteran, a patriot, an avid reader, crossword puzzle wiz, a Port Jervis Red Raider and NY Giant Fan, but her role as a mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, was the most important to her.
Sally served in the U.S. Army and attended the Otisville/Mt. Hope Presbyterian Church. She was a member of the Port Jervis Elks Lodge #645, and the Deerpark & Port Jervis Senior Group. Sally was retired from Kolmar.
In addition to her parents, Sally was predeceased in life by her husband William D. Taylor, her brother Glen “Butch” Ross, and son in law Orville G. Morgan.
Devoted mother of Scott Taylor (Donna) of Port Jervis, Kelly Quick (Steven) of Matamoras, Beth Morgan Port Jervis; and Bridget Crawford (Andrew) of Matamoras. Beloved grandmother of Michael (Martina), Colin (Kassandra), Taylor (Colton), Cort, and Trent (Kaitlyn). Dear great grandmother of Luca, Massimo, William, Thomas, Ava, Finley, Brooke, Callie, and Lily. Sister of John Ross (Carol) of Spring Hill, FL. Lifelong friend of Lois Cronic and Stella Chase.
A Celebration of Life will take place on August 20, 2023 from 1:00 to 4:00 pm at the Port Jervis Elks Lodge, 35 Rt. US-6 Port Jervis, NY 12771.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Port Jervis/Deerpark or the Orville G. Morgan Scholarship Fund.
