Obituary of George A. Gelderman Sr.

George A. Gelderman Sr. a a longtime resident of Shohola, PA died peacefully on June 7, 2023.  He was 85. 

The son of the late William G. & Mildred Tyce Gelderman, he was born on January 18, 1938 in Honesdale, PA.  

After graduating high school George would join the US Airforce.  He would be assigned as a firefighter in the Crash Rescue Squadron.  While assigned at Hickam Air Force Base in Hawaii he would marry Patricia Myers Gelderman.  Upon returning home he would work and retire as a carpenter with AST Construction in Matamoras.  

In addition to his parents George was predeceased in life by his wife Patricia and his brothers Charles, William and Robert Gelderman. 

Devoted father of George A. Gelderman Jr. with his wife Rachel of Montague, NJ.  Beloved grandfather of Diana & Georgia  Gelderman also of Montague, NJ.  Dear brother of Fred Gelderman of Paupack, PA.  

A memorial visitation will take place on  Saturday July 29th from 1 to 3:00PM at the KNIGHT-AUCHMOODY Funeral Home 154 East Main Street, Port Jervis, NY.   A service of remembrance will follow at 3:00PM with the Rev. Nancy Vonderhorst officiating.  

Donations may be made to Port Jervis-Deerpark Humane Society or the Pike County Humane Society Milford PA.
