Only Nick could add swagger to his walker, as he showed me his recovery after the fall
Only Nick could wear such challenges as a badge, not letting disease or the hand life dealt him define him,
His inexhaustible spirit,
He wore a face braver than I thought possible,
I call to console him, and I would be consoled,
I'd try to lift his sprint, and he'd crack the most appropriate inappropriate joke and lift mine,
There is not a place he went where he did not make a friend.
OK, Nick... not badges... tattoos, very cool tattoos. The mountain that inspired you, diabetes that hounded you. You owned your story.
It's so hard to imagine a world without you. The worse sound is an unanswered call to someone you love.
Nick, there is a place in my heart, and in the hearts of so many that knew you, that Only you could fill. I miss you, Buddy.
