Horace “Sarge” Schultz age 87 of Port Jervis, NY passed away September 9, 2021 at his home. He was born on November 18, 1933 in Port Jervis, NY, the son of Theodore H. Schultz, Sr. and Rayola Holly Schultz. Sarge proudly served our country first with the US Navy during the Korean War and then with the US Army during the Vietnam War. He retired from the US Army in 1976, after many years of honorable service as an SFC and was a recipient of a Bronze Star. Following his retirement from the military, Sarge worked at the YMCA Camps in Huguenot, NY. He was a member of the Grace Fellowship Church in Port Jervis and a member of the Tri-State Naval Ship #7241, Port Jervis. Sarge is survived by his wife of 64 years, Betty MacKechnie Schultz. He is also survived by his three daughters; Betty Ann Schultz of Rock Springs, Wyoming, Donna M. Binning of Pinedale, Wyoming, and Debbie S. Schultz at home, his son Jason Allen Schultz of Oregon, his beloved grandchildren; Emily, Bradford, Jr., Tommy and Angela, several great grandchildren; his sister-in-law Pauline and Robert Lehn, several nieces and nephews. Sarge was pre-deceased by his two sons; Bradford and Richard Schultz, his grandson, Cody, his brother Theodore H. Schultz, his sisters; Reenie Rohner and Jeanette Beach and his son-in-law Willard Binning. Graveside services with military honors will be on Friday, September 24, 2021 at 2:00pm at Rural Valley Cemetery, Cuddebackville, NY . Rev. Tom Mortensen will officiate.
