Dr. Timothy “Tim” Stabler, WB9NLZ, age 81, of Portage, IN, formerly of Valparaiso, IN, passed away at his home on Wednesday, July 20, 2022.

Tim is survived by his daughter, Ashlee (James) Fogle; five grandchildren: Benjamin, Cailynn, Hailey, Madison and Joseph Fogle; his former spouse and good friend, Kellee Murga; special family friend, Redd Tyler; and his furry companion, B.A.

Tim was preceded in death by his parents: Ralph and Marjorie Stabler; and his many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Tim was born and raised in Port Jervis, NY where he graduated high school. He furthered his education at Drew University in NJ, DePauw University in Greencastle, IN and lastly earned his Ph.D. at the University of Vermont. He began his long teaching career at Hope College in Michigan before coming to and retiring from I.U.N. in Gary, IN where he taught upper level Biology classes for over 32 years. Tim was a “Man of Many Hats”. His many hobbies included teaching cooking classes, photography, amateur Ham Radio operating, painting & drawing, and writing lab manuals for biology, embriology, and anatomy & physiology. Tim was a great Dad & Papa and never knew a stranger.
