Walter G. Akt II of Pond Eddy died on July 23, 2022 at home, he was a lifelong resident of Sullivan County. He was 85. Son of the late Walter and Hildagard Akt he was born June 7, 1937 in Sparrow Bush, NY. Walter was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was the former proprietor of Walter G. Akt Inc, Excavating. Husband of the late Ernestine “Pidge” Akt. Father of Walter G. Akt III, James Akt, John Travis, Carolann Akt, Howard Smith, Anthony Smith, Joseph Smith, Valerie Harris, Phyllis Denninger, Lynn Smith and the late Michael Smith.
