Obituary of James A. Perrego

James "Jimmy the Jet" A. Perrego age 75 of Port Jervis, NY passed away on Tuesday March 15, 2022 at home. He was born on april 2, 1946 in Middletown, NY and is the son of the late Joseph and Catherine Mager Perrego. James worked as a security hospital therapy aide at Mid-Hudson Forensic Psychiatric Center in New Hampton, NY. He was a member of the Elks Lodge #645 in Port Jervis. James is survived by his five daughters: Amy Perrego-Sicuro of FL, Tara Perrego of Glen Spey, NY, Patricia Mendoza and fiancé Michael of Port Jervis, NY, Nichole Caruso and husband Bret of FL, Jessica Perrego and life partner Melanie Monastra of NJ; one sister: Gail Perrego Coleman and husband Charlie of Chester, MD; six grandchildren: Jenna Gelormino and fiancé Brandon Meyer, Joseph Postorino, Ricky Mendoza, Emily Postorino, Aria and Aubrey Caruso; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his life partner Fern Lutfy. Visitation will be held on Monday March 21, 2022 from 2-4 and 6-8pm. Elks will conduct memorial services at 7pm. Prayers will be offered 9:15am on Tuesday March 22 at the funeral home followed by a Mass of Resurrection at 10am at St. Mary's R.C. Church. Rev. Matthew Newcomb will be the celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to United Hospice of Rockland Hospice 11 Stokum Lane, New City, NY.
