Joseph B. Banach a longtime resident of the area died on August 19, 2023.  He was 88. 

Joseph was born on October 10, 1934 in Greenville, NY. He was the son of Joseph and Bertha (Dudek) Banach. He lived in Port Jervis, NY & Mill Rift, PA with his wife Diane J. (Allen) Banach, whom he married on May 12, 1956.

Joesph was owner of Banach Construction Company. In addition, served several years as a police officer for the Port Jervis Police Department. He was a member of Knights of Columbus, Pop Warner, Mill Rift Fire Department, Westfall Township Sewage Authority & PA Builders Association.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Diane, daughter - Mary Agnes Banach, brother - Vincent Banach, sisters Theresa Edwards, Elizabeth Geib & Cecelia Banach, granddaughter – Jennifer Minihane-Banach, & son-in-law William Duff.

Joesph is survived by his children: sons - Joseph C. (Teri) Banach, Raymond (Debbie) Banach and daughters - Darlene (Gene) Norman, Jacqueline (Rollin) Cook & Nancy Duff, sisters – Alice Lapriore, Caroline Banach & Mary Jo Chandler & sister-in- law – Helen Banach.  Grandchildren - Ross (Andrea) Banach, Joseph (Ashley) Banach, Justin (Sierra) Banach, Jayme (Chris) Propst, Raymond (Megan) Banach, Jack Duff & Jessica Norman and 18 great grandchildren.

There will be no visitation, the burial service will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to a charity of your choice.
