Matthew Conor Mastrelli, 35, of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, formerly of Port Jervis, NY, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, July 3, 2026.

Born on April 1, 1991, in Port Jervis, NY, Matt was the son of Salvatore Mastrelli III and Ellen Mastrelli-Baird. He was raised by Ellen and Brian Baird.

Matt proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, which he joined in his early twenties and where he trained as an Aviation Technician. Over six years of dedicated service, he completed two overseas deployments — to Tunisia, Africa, and Abu Dhabi, UAE. Matt loved his time in the Air Force; the pride and brotherhood of his service stayed with him for the rest of his life.

After his honorable service, Matt made his home in Florida, where he worked as a plumber's assistant with J+S Plumbing of West Palm Beach.

A true adventurer, he loved snowmobiling and snowboarding in the winters up north, and fishing, days at the beach, and riding motorcycles in the sun. Wherever he went, Matt will be remembered the same way — always happy, with a smile on his face, and always there to help anyone who needed it.

Matt was predeceased by his grandparents — his maternal grandparents, George and Rosemarie Kucera, and his paternal grandparents, Sonny and Betty Mastrelli.

Matt is survived by his mother, Ellen Mastrelli-Baird, and her husband Brian; his father, Salvatore Mastrelli III; his brothers, Salvatore Mastrelli IV, Joseph Mastrelli (Emily), Joshua Baird (Amanda), Scott Baird, and Adam Baird. He was the proud uncle of Guy & Ivan Mastrelli, and Brody & Kayce Baird; the loving nephew of Patti Sibilia (Chris), Steve Mastrelli (Patty), and Theresa Mastrelli. Cherished cousin of Alex Sibilia, Rebecca Anderson, and Ashley Staples. He also leaves behind many dear friends.

Family and friends are invited to gather to celebrate Matt's life on Sunday, July 12, 2026, from 1:00 to 3:30 PM at the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, 154 East Main Street, Port Jervis, NY. A Family Reflections service will follow at 3:30 PM at the funeral home.
