Romana (Pawluk) Swartz, 57, of East Hartford, loving wife of Michael Swartz, passed away unexpectedly in the comfort of her home on Wednesday, November 19, 2025. Born on May 31, 1968, in Astoria, New York, she was the daughter of the late Roman and Wira (Karas) Pawluk.

Romana grew up in Manhattan and had been a resident of East Hartford for the past 20 years. Before retiring, she dedicated her career to working as a programmer in the pharmacy technology field.

She found joy in reading tarot cards and had a deep love of gardening and flowers. A lifelong learner, she delighted in studying languages and spent time learning Ukrainian, French, Italian, Polish, and Spanish.

In addition to her devoted husband, Michael, Romana is survived by her sisters, Ezya Kurowyckyj and her husband Jerry, and their children George and Dianna; and Tita Iwasiwka and her children Peter and Marco. She also leaves her brother, Adrian "Opie" Pawluk and his son Hudson, as well as her beloved dog, Pippa.

Family and friends are invited to gather to lay Romana to rest at a graveside service on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Glen Spey Cemetery, Glen Spey, NY.
