Barbara Ann Daniel, née Ulbrich, entered the presence of her Heavenly Father on June 22, 2026, at the age of 79.

Barbara was born on July 27, 1946, in Port Jervis, New York, to Harold and Sophie (Michalski) Ulbrich. She lived a life defined by faith, family, kindness, and compassion.

She was known by all who met her as a sweet, thoughtful, and caring woman whose gentle spirit left a lasting impression on everyone she encountered.

Barbara is survived by her beloved husband, Joseph Daniel; her cherished daughter, Carol Loch; her son-in-law, Jeff Loch; and her grandsons, Jason, Justin, and Jonah. She also treasured her role as stepmother to Becky and Tricia and step-grandmother to Alexie. Barbara shared a very close and special bond with her sisters, Joyce Williams and Ellie Moglia. Their lifelong friendship was a source of comfort, laughter, and love throughout her life. She is also lovingly remembered by her nieces Rhonda and Sherri, and her nephew Mark, children of Joyce and her husband, Rich Williams. Through her sister Ellie Moglia, Barbara will be fondly remembered by her nephew Anthony. She was also blessed with several grandnieces and grandnephews whom she loved dearly.

Barbara was preceded in death by her beloved younger brother, Harold Ulbrich, who passed away on September 14, 2004. To know Barbara was to know kindness.

She had a remarkable ability to make others feel loved, valued, and cared for. Her thoughtful gestures, gentle words, and generous heart touched countless lives. Family, friends, neighbors, and coworkers alike remember her as someone who was genuinely sweet, considerate, and always willing to put others before herself.

Barbara dedicated many years of her professional life serving others as a Certified Dietetic Assistant at Bon Secours Hospital in Port Jervis, New York. She took pride in caring for others and approached her work with the same kindness and compassion that she demonstrated throughout her life. After retiring from Bon Secours Hospital, Barbara and Joseph relocated from the Northeast to Arizona, where they spent the next twenty years building a life and community she cherished. Although officially retired, she found great enjoyment working as a receptionist at Kovach in Chandler, Arizona.  She valued the friendships she made there and appreciated the opportunity to stay connected with people, something that came naturally to her warm and welcoming personality. Long before "servant leadership" became a recognized philosophy, Barbara lived it. She led through kindness rather than position, through service rather than recognition, and through love rather than obligation.

Whether caring for family, supporting friends, helping coworkers, or simply offering a listening ear, Barbara consistently placed the needs of others before her own. Her life was a quiet but powerful example of faith in action. Among Barbara’s favorite things was riding pillion with “Joey” on their Harley, taking in the simple beauty of the scenery around them. She found joy in life’s gentle gifts — hummingbirds, the plants she lovingly tended, and the devoted pets she cherished over the years. While her family grieves her loss, they find comfort in knowing that she is now at peace in the presence of her Lord and Savior. Her faith sustained her throughout her life and remains an enduring source of hope for those she leaves behind.

At Barbara's request, there will be no viewing or funeral service. Her family will honor her life privately and carry forward the example of faith, kindness, humility, and service that she so beautifully demonstrated. In the interim, she will be cremated, in recognition of her husband Joseph's military service with the U.S. Navy, her remains will be interred with him at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona when the time comes.
