Jean C. Troutman Obituary
Jean C. Troutman, a former resident of Matamoras/Milford since 1970, entered into eternal rest on June 19, 2026. She was 96 years old and became a resident of the Williamsport Home Retirement Community in October 2021. Born January 8, 1930 at Oak Ridge, PA, she was the daughter of Clyde and Norma (Humphrey) Crawford. She was predeceased by her sister, Greta Shaffer of Erie, PA. Jean was the oldest living member of both Crawford and Humphrey families and has now joined her husband, Duaine Brooks Troutman in Heaven who predeceased her on July 31, 2004.
Her greatest love was her family, which is truly her legacy. She will live on through them by all the wisdom and love she gave them. She will be mourned by her two children and their spouses: Tim and Pat Troutman of Muncy, PA and Tria and John Mason of Milford. She will live on in the hearts of her four grandchildren: Jenny (and Casey) Redmon of Lock Haven, Sarah (and Brian) Harry of Mill Hall, Adam Mason of Palmyra and Sean (and Jess) Mason of Factoryville, PA. She adored her six great grandchildren: Sydney and Griffin Redmon, Emma and Ellie Harry, Zoey Mason and Makayla Mason. She is also survived by two nieces and one nephew.
Jean was very active and lived life to the fullest up until her final days and was always looking for ways to help others. She enjoyed her many friends and appreciated their calls and visits. She was an accomplished quilter and loved nothing more than hand quilting and gifting her pieces to family and friends.
She was the School Board Secretary for Delaware Valley School District, after which she was a part-time employee of the Pike County Court of Common Pleas Judicial support system. Jean attended and supported Drew United Methodist Church in Port Jervis, NY. At that time, she was a member of United Methodist Women, the Knit Wits craft group and regularly visited Drew shut-ins. She frequently attended the Milford United Methodist Church.
She was a source of strength, light and love to all who knew her and will be deeply missed. We are comforted in knowing that she is now in the presence of her Lord and Savior and rejoicing with family and friends who predeceased her.
The family will receive guests at the Drew United Methodist Church, 51 Sussex Street, Port Jervis, NY on Thursday, June 25 from 11:00 - 12:00PM. A celebration of Jean’s life will commence 12Noon at the Church, the Rev. Bob Cassidy officiating. The interment will take place at Pine Grove Cemetery, Matamoras, PA, immediately after. The family kindly requested that the committal at the cemetery be private and reserved strictly for immediate family only.
Memorial contributions may be made to Drew United Methodist Church.
Funeral arrangements entrusted to the Knight Auchmoody Funeral Home of 154 East Main St., Port Jervis, NY.
