Rocco Auriti, 96, of Milford, PA, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, May 27, 2026.

Born on May 9, 1930 in Orsogna, Italy, Rocco was the son of the late Nicola Auriti and Nicoletta Tenaglia. On November 26, 1955, he married the love of his life, Lidia, with whom he would share more than seventy years of marriage. In 1971, Rocco immigrated to the Bronx with his brothers, and in 1972 sent for his family to join him as they began their new life together in America.

Rocco worked as a custodian at Olympic Towers in New York City until his retirement, taking pride in providing for his family through years of steady, dedicated work. A practicing Catholic, he lived his faith quietly and faithfully. He had a true green thumb and loved gardening, finding peace and joy in tending to what he grew. Above all, Rocco loved his family — his face lit up whenever he saw his grandchildren, who were the great delight of his later years.

Rocco is survived by his beloved wife, Lidia Auriti; his daughter, Rita Ciancio (Camillo); his son, Thomas Auriti (Susan Sayers); his cherished grandchildren, Anthony Ciancio (Michelle), Lisa Ciancio, Olivia Auriti, and Angelina Auriti; and his great-grandchildren, Emma, Jack, and Luke. Mother of his grandchildren Mary Auriti.  He is also lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews, and extended family members for whom he was a devoted uncle and great-uncle.

In addition to his parents Rocco was predeceased by his siblings, Assunta Auriti, Maria DiRado, Ida Auriti, Serafina Auriti, Mario Auriti, Angelo Auriti, and Antonio Auriti.

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 29, 2026 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, 154 East Main Street, Port Jervis, NY 12771.   In addition a visitation will take place on Saturday from 9:00 to 10:00 AM at the funeral home, followed by a Funeral Mass  10:30 AM at St. Mary's R.C. Church, Port Jervis, NY. Burial will follow at St. Mary's R.C. Cemetery, Port Jervis, NY.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in Rocco's memory to the National Down Syndrome Society at NDSS.org.
