Frederick L. "Fred" McGee, of Westbrookville, NY, passed away unexpectedly on May 7, 2026 at his home. He was 79 years old.

The son of the late Mary Gutekunst Giguere, he was born on May 29, 1946 in Middletown, NY. He married his best friend, Linda Uszenski McGee, on November 6, 1987 in Cochecton, NY.

Fred was a proud United States Navy veteran who served his country during the Vietnam Era as a U.S. Naval Air veteran.

He built a long and dedicated career as a Cable Splicer with Frontier Communications, retiring after 45 years of faithful service. A man  devoted to his community, Fred was the longtime member and Past President of the Mamakating Conservation Club, as well as longtime member and Past President of the Westbrookville Volunteer Fire Company.

In addition to his mother Fred was predeceased in life by his brother in law Richard Uszenski.

Fred is survived by his loving wife, Linda McGee. His sons: Rick McGee (Deanna); Scott McGee (Randi); and Jerry McGee. His cherished grandchildren, Zachary and Jessica. His great-grandson, Chase Lucas McGee.  Fred was the beloved brother-in-law of Andrew Uszenski (Stephanie) and Birgit Uszenski. He was the dear uncle of Adam Morse (Jennifer); Erik Morse (Sarah); and Amanda Franck (Dave).
