James F. Wilcox passed away on February 20, 2026 in Phillipsburg, NJ.  He was 89 years old.  

The son of the late Gertrude and Clarence Wilcox, he was born on September 26, 1936 in Port Jervis, NY. 

James was predeceased by his wife Joan and brother David.

James built a distinguished career as the Vice President of Finance with V.A.W. in Ellenville, NY where he was respected for his integrity and financial expertise.  A man of faith and commitment to his community, James was a longtime member of St. Mary’s RC Church where he faithfully served as the financial administrator, generously offering his time and talents in service to his parish. He was also an active member of Knights of Columbus Council #471. 

James was a dedicated and loving father to his 4 daughters,  Debra Decker (Eugene), Diane Barber (Michael), Donna Potere (Richard) and Deneen Basile (Robert).   A cherished grandfather of 10; Eric, Dylan, Matthew, Megan, Hannah, Ryan, Emily, Christopher, Andrew and Kaitlyn and a great grandfather of 15.  He is also survived by his sister in-law Bette Wilcox, One niece and 3 nephews.

A visitation will take place on Wednesday 2/25 from 9:30AM to 10:30AM at the KNIGHT-AUCHMOODY Funeral Home 154 East Main Street Port Jervis NY 12771.  Following visitation a Funeral Mass will take place 11:00AM at St. Mary's RC Church, Port Jervis.  Following the Mass interment will take place at St. Mary's Cemetery, Port Jervis.
