Linda Aten, 76, of Sparrowbush, New York, peacefully passed away at her home on January 29, 2026.

Born on June 26, 1949, in Paterson, New Jersey, Linda was the daughter of the late Daniel Washburn and Mamie Conklin Washburn. She spent much of her life in the Sparrowbush area, where she made her home and raised her family.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Frank Aten; her daughter-in-law Amy Smith; and her brother Daniel Washburn.

She is survived by her daughter Carol Search (Timothy); her sons Francis Smith and George Smith; her siblings Dennis Washburn, Dorothy Keintopp, Deanna Washburn, and Kenneth Washburn; her grandchildren Cheyanne Search (Antonio), Steven Smith, Dakota Search, Kaylee Smith (George), Trinity Search, Adrianna Search, Emily Smith, and Peter Smith; and her four great-grandchildren Carter, Colton, Georgia, and Wyatt.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home.

Cremation services were held privately.
