It is with profound sadness to announce Francis “Fran/Frank” Kean, a long-time resident of Glen Spey, NY passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on December 4, 2025 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was 75 years old.

He leaves behind to cherish in his memory: his beloved wife of 38 years, Eileen, his son Patrick (Sarah), his daughter Megan and two grandchildren, Amelia & Eliana.

Frank was born on May 20, 1950 to Cyrus & Frances Kean in Port Jervis NY. He attended Orange CountyCommunity College and graduated from SUNY Cortland.

Frank started his teaching career at Eldred Central High School in 1972 and retired in July 2010. After teaching and coaching at Eldred for 38 years, Frank went on to teach at several different school districts in the county. Frank touched the lives of many and his teaching career, students and athletes were his true pride up until his passing.

Among his many accomplishments at Eldred, Frank also loved spending time at home with his family, being outside, tutoring, traveling, Notre Dame football & the New York Mets.

A celebration of life will take place on Saturday January 24, 2026 at The Eldred Preserve 1040 State Route 55 Eldred NY 12732 from 1 to 5:00PM.   Please make use of the link below to RSVP.
