Ethan P. Schultz of Bangor, PA died unexpectedly and tragically on October 23, 2025. He was four days away from his 21st birthday.
He is the beloved son of Jason Schultz of Newton, NJ and Cathleen Schultz of Bangor, PA. He was born on October 27, 2004 in Honesdale, PA.
Ethan resided in Matamoras, PA until he was 13 years old, then moved to Greenville, NC with his mother. He loved attending the summer dude ranch camps at Malibu ranch in Milford, PA, where he discovered his love of horses. After moving to NC Ethan volunteered at two different therapeutic horse stables taking care of the horses that helped children with disabilities. He would muck stalls just to be around the horses. Ethan was a lover of animals and they loved him back. During high school, Ethan had a passion for playing Ultimate Frisbee with a local get together team.
After high school, Ethan enlisted in the Navy and was a Fireman Apprentice. He was stationed on the USS Oakhill in Little Creek, VA and worked as a diesel mechanic. Shortly after deployment he suffered a significant hand injury and later separated from the Navy and came to Bangor PA to live with family. Ethan worked for Travel Centers of America as a diesel technician up until his untimely death. He loved his job and he especially loved helping people. Ethan was an old soul who loved old rock music and lived larger than life, but with the gentleness of a soft breeze. He displayed impeccable manners and endless compassion. Whomever he came into contact with, he always delivered hope in the goodness of people.
In addition to his heart broken parents, Ethan is survived by his brothers Chris Kuchuk and Joshua Schultz, his Aunt and Uncle, Laurie and Gus DeBree, Aunt Kathy Foss, Cousins, Michael Foss and wife Alexis, and Ryan Foss, Aunt Paula Titterton and her husband Michael, Uncle Michael Castellano, step Grandmother Francine Castellano, and great Uncle Carlyle Petitt, and second cousins Sandra Russell, Sharron Fischer, Sally Barber, and Shelly MacDonald.
