John A. Jennings Sr died unexpectedly on September 5, 2025. He was 87 years old.
The son of the late Ralph and Charlotte Jennings, he was born on November 6, 1937 in Waywayanda, NY.
John served honorably in the United States Army. After his military service, he poured his passion and skill into founding Jennings Carpentry, serving the Tri-State area with craftsmanship. Known for his tireless work ethic, John remained active in his business until the very end. A longtime member of Hope Evangelical Free Church, John’s faith was a cornerstone of his life. He served as past board President. John’s warm personality and quick wit made him a friend to all. He could strike up a conversation with anyone, leaving them smiling with his great sense of humor and genuine kindness.
In addition to his parents John was predeceased in life by his daughter Donna Graziano, son in law James DeGroat and his brothers.
Beloved husband of Marilyn Jennings. Devoted father of Sharon Little her husband Jerry, John Jennings Jr his wife Joy, Linda Freeman her husband Louie and Patti DeGroat. Father in law of Erik Graziano. Cherished grandfather of 13 and great grandfather of 11.
A visitation will take place on Wednesday from 4 to 6:30PM at the Knight - Auchmoody Funeral Home. A funeral service will take place at 6:30PM at the Funeral Home with Pastor Butch Gilpin officiating. Final Committal will be Thursday 11:45AM at Fairview Cemetery, Wantage, NJ.
