Gayle Mann Obituary

Gayle Mann of Port Jervis died unexpectedly on July 21, 2025 at Bon Secours Community Hospital.  She was 73 years old.

The daughter of the late Dorothy and Chester Mann, she was born on June 22, 1952 in Suffern, NY.

Gayle dedicated her life to caring for others, beginning as a nurse’s aide at Ramapo Manor Nursing Home where she proudly joined 1199.  Her spirit led her to Seiko in Mahwah and later to Emma C. Chase Elementary School in Wurtsboro as a teacher’s aide, where she nurtured children until her retirement. Never one to sit still, she found joy ushering at Bethel Woods, surrounded by music and community.

Gayle measured wealth in kindness—whether helping family or friends, tending her plants, or sharing good food with loved ones. A true free spirit, she was happiest with her toes in the sand, a sea breeze in her hair, and the promise of another adventure on the horizon. Her legacy lives on in every life she touched, every child she encouraged, and every heart she warmed with her generous soul.

In addition to her parents she was predeceased in life by her siblings Margaret "Peggy" Van Dunk, Gloria Mann, Anthony Mann and Judi Lyn Van Dunk.

Beloved life partner of Daniel F. McCormack.  Cherished mother of Meaghan R. McCormack and Taylor McCormack.  Fur mama to Abigail & Smokey.   Fond aunt and great aunt to her many nieces & nephews.

As per her wishes services are private.  Please make use of the tribute wall by leaving a memory or condolence for the family.
