Gerald A. Winans of Matamoras passed away peacefully on July 3, 2025 at Deleware Valley Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation.  He was 85 years old. 

The son of the late Alice and Leland Winans, he was born on August 10, 1939 in Matamoras, PA. 

Gerald built a life defined by service and skill. As a boy, he learned the value of hard work delivering milk with his father—a foundation that carried through his proud tenure as a U.S. Army Military Police officer and later as a dedicated electrician at Nepra Chemical in Harriman, where he retired after years of steadfast work.  

On April 22, 1973, he married his greatest ally, Janith, beginning a partnership filled with adventures to New Mexico and quiet companionship at home. When not with his beloved wife, Gerald could be found pursuing his passions—whether casting a line, tracking game, rolling a perfect strike, or perfecting his swing on the golf course.  

In addition to his parents Gerald was predeceased in life by his mother and father in law Elmer & Christine Hallock and brother in law Arthur Hallock. 

Beloved husband of Janith I. Winans.  Dear brother of Nancy Finn of Matamoras and Linda Segarra of Forty Fort, PA.  Life long friend of Elmer "Beany" Messenger, Victor "Moose" Calciotti and Francis "Butch" Lemon.   Dedicated caregiver & friend Patti Horner with her husband Jerry.  Cherished uncle and great uncle to his nieces and nephews. 

A funeral procession will form at 12:45PM on Wednesday July 9th at the Knight - Auchmoody Funeral Home.  The procession will proceed to Pine Grove Cemetery for a 1:00PM graveside service with Military Honors.
