Nancy Jane Sexton of Port Jervis died unexpectedly at home on June 30, 2025. She was 84 years old.
The daughter of the late Arlene and Stanley Decker, she was born on October 26, 1940 in Port Jervis, NY.
Nancy found happiness in life's quiet comforts - Drew Methodist Church where she was a lifelong member, the excited calls of "Bingo!" in Matamoras, and the weekly card games laughter shared with her dear lady friends. But nothing lit up her world like her grandchildren, whose lives she cherished being part of. In recent years, her greatest delight came from the arrival of great-grandchildren, each visit with them adding new joy to her days. Nancy measured wealth not in possessions but in the love of family and the fellowship of friends around a card table.
In addition to her parents Nancy was predeceased in life by her husband James J. Sexton Sr, her baby sister Diana and brother in laws Melvin Griffin and John Wehinger.
Beloved mother of Sandy Forbes with her husband Jim and James J. Sexton Jr with his wife Dawn. Cherished grandmother of Chris Forbes (Colleen), Kim Mellinger (Dave), William Vanduzer, Adrienne M. Sexton, Kelly Marchesin and Bailly Perez. Adored great grandmother of Campbell, Carsyn, Ava, Ethan, Vince, RJ and Brayden. Dear sister of Linda Griffin, Jean Wehinger and Stanley Decker.
A celebration of life will take place 1:00PM on Saturday July 12, 2025, please email Jim Sexton at busch42man@yahoo.com for details/RSVP.
