Reid M. Bodine of Beach Lake died peacefully on June 1, 2025 at the Wilkes - Barre VA Medical Center.  He was 84 years old.  

The son of the late Albert and Jean Bodine, he was born on December 17, 1940 in Port Jervis, NY. 

Reid was a member of Delaware Valley High School’s first graduating class of 1958. After high school, he answered the call of duty, serving honorably in the U.S. Air Force.   During his military service, he furthered his education at the Erie County Technical Institute, earning a degree in Metallurgy. 

Upon his honorable discharge, Reid continued his studies at Penn State University in State College, PA, before embarking on a distinguished career as an electrician, metallurgist, and electronics technician.  He dedicated many years of service before retiring from Tobyhanna Army Depot.

A proud veteran, Reid was a longtime member of American Legion Post 254 in Honesdale, PA, the oldest member of the Matamoras Rod & Gun Club, Pike / Wayne AACA, the EAA Chapter 891 Experimental Aircraft Club of Sussex, NJ and last but certainly not least a devoted member of the Hope Evangelical Church of Matamoras for nearly his whole life.  

An avid outdoorsman, he found joy in nature, whether hunting, fishing, or capturing the world through his passion for photography.  

Reid will be remembered for his work ethic, dedication to service, and love of the outdoors.  His time spent in the US Air Force was a memorable period of his life that he always treasured.  

In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his brother Bruce Bodine and sister Judy Quick.  

He is survived by his nieces and nephews, Michele Bijesse (Bob), Judi Quick (Roger), Rodney Quick (Theresa), Russell Bodine (Taylor), Robert Bodine, Rita Meadows and Ronald Bodine.  

A visitation will take place on Saturday June 7th from 9:30AM to 12Noon at the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home.  A Funeral Service will begin 12Noon with Pastor Butch Gilpin officiating.  Immediately following interment will take place at the Pine Hill Cemetery, Sparrowbush.
