Charlotte A. Gannon of Port Jervis passed away peacefully on March 31, 2025 at Bon Secours Community Hospital.  She was 79 years old. 

The daughter of the late Anna and William E. DeFreese, she was born on December 21, 1945 in Ringwood, NJ.  

Charlotte was a woman who never minced words—if she had something to say, you heard it. Bold, unfiltered, and fiercely real, she didn’t hold back: if she didn’t like you, you knew it, but if she loved you, she loved you deeply and without reservation.  

At her core, Charlotte was a devoted mother and grandmother, putting her strength into her family. Her love was as big as her opinions, and those closest to her knew the warmth and loyalty behind her tough exterior. 

In addition to her parent's Charlotte was predeceased in life by her husband James D. Gannon, children Jessica Gannon, Holly G. Gannon and her siblings. 

Beloved mother of Marie A. Gannon, David A. DeFreese (Jill), James D. Gannon Jr (Melanie), Nathan E. Gannon, Charles L. Gannon, Joshua A. Gannon (Denise) and Jeremiah F. Gannon.  Cherished grandmother of 14 and great grandmother of three.  

A visitation will take place from 10AM to 12Noon Thursday 4/3 at the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home.  The procession will form for final committal at Ridgebury Cemetery, Slate Hill.
