Raymond D. Kolvenbach Obituary

Raymond D. Kolvenbach of Matamoras died peacefully on March 17, 2025, 20 years to the day his wife Joann passed away.  He was 75 years old. 


The son of the late Dorothy and John M. Kolvenbach, he was born on October 24, 1949 in Port Jervis, NY.  


Ray was a proud U.S. Navy veteran who served during the Vietnam War.  After his honorable military service, Ray dedicated himself to his community, working as a courier for the Port Jervis School District. He was a passionate outdoorsman and a cherished member of the Pole Bridge Hunting Club, where he served as Past President. The club was a central part of his life, and he spent countless hours there hunting and camping, enjoying the camaraderie of his fellow members. 


In addition to his parents Ray was predeceased in life by his wife Joann, his sister Joan Doss with her husband Bob and his sister in law Dolores Kolvenbach.  


Beloved father of Megan Crawford with her husband TC and Jennifer Jewell with her wife Julie.  Cherished grandfather of Boone, Indie and Archer.  Dear brother of John Kolvenbach.  Uncle to his nieces and nephews.  


A visitation will take place on Monday 3/24 from 4 to 7:00PM at the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home.  The family will receive guests on Tuesday 3/25 from 10:00 to 11:00AM at the funeral home with a service being held at 11:00AM.  The Rev. Keith Raser officiating.  Following services burial will take place at Rural Valley Cemetery, Cuddebackville.  


In lieu of flowers the family asks donations be made to the Pole Bridge Hunting Club 702 Oakland Valley Road, Cuddebackville NY 12729.
