Gary L. Bailey Obituary

Gary L. Bailey a lifelong resident of Port Jervis died on March 14, 2025 at Bon Secours Community Hospital.  He was 81 years old.

The son of the late Fern and Richard Bailey, he was born on June 24, 1943.

Gary was a skilled cabinet maker and talented woodworker leaving behind a legacy of working with his hands.  Gary’s day to day work was a testament to his craftsmanship and artistry.  An avid fisherman, Gary found peace by the water, rod in hand, surrounded by nature. He had a passion for photography, capturing moments, ensuring that memories were preserved.  His home was adorned with photographs of his family, a visual reminder of the love he held for them, that maybe was not always verbalized.

In addition to his parents Gary was predeceased in life by his son Sean Bailey and former wife and mother of his children Patricia Crotty.

He is survived by his beloved Melinda Corkum of 34 years.  Dear father of Patricia Ayers (Curtis), Richard Bailey (Kimberley) and John Bailey (Melinda).  Grandfather of Michael Ayers, Samantha Berglin, Curtis Ayers, Joshua Bailey, Brittney Bailey, Danielle Hossan, Evan Bailey, Matthew Bailey, Abigail Bailey, Christopher Bailey, Jessica Talmadge and Joseph Bailey.  Great grandfather of three.

Arrangements entrusted to the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home of Port Jervis, NY.
